Mesa Verde National Park provides wonderful opportunities for deep sky photography. Since there are no large cities in the Four Corners region, there is very little artificial light to detract from the night sky.
Deep sky or deep space often means photographing astounding deep-sky objects in the night sky such as the Andromeda Galaxy, Orion Nebula, Pleiades and Star Clusters through telephoto lenses or telescopes using tracking mounts.
Objects are often faint and underwhelming when viewed through the camera eyepiece, yet explode with detail when photographed.
