The San Juan Skyway, a scenic and historic byway in Colorado, offers an essential experience for road travelers as it winds through the breathtakingly vibrant San Juan Mountains.
This route not only showcases the stunning natural beauty of the region but also provides opportunities to explore significant historic towns, including Durango, Silverton, Telluride, and Ouray, each contributing to the rich cultural tapestry of the area.
San Juan Skyway Fall Foliage
As the weather begins to cool, the San Juan Skyway fall foliage is not to be missed.

The Million Dollar Highway

There are plenty of designated pullouts where we can stop to pause to soak in the expansive landscapes and snap some photos of the incredible fall foliage.

No visit to Southwestern Colorado would be complete without stopping by Telluride, a gem tucked away in the majestic San Juan Mountains, where you'll find not only jaw-dropping views but also fantastic dining options and a sprinkle of local history to enrich your experience.
**While this isn't exactly a workshop in the traditional sense, it's more of a gathering of fellow photography enthusiasts who share a passion for capturing stunning images.

Town of Durango
We will be begin our adventure in the charming little railroad town of Durango, embarking on one of the most breathtaking drives in the entire country.
Our home base will be the historic mining town of Ouray
We'll have the chance to snap some incredible shots of the picturesque Dallas Divide, along with a bunch of other stunning spots we encounter on our journey.
This retreat is all about capturing the vibrant colors of creation's most spectacular displays. With crystal-clear rivers, awe-inspiring landscapes, and opportunities to spot wildlife, fall in Colorado is nothing short of a dream come true for photographers!
Retreat Dates:
October 1 - October 5, 2025
Please Note: Dates have been modified due to color predictions.
Arrival Date: October 1 , 2025 by 3 PM in Durango, CO
Departure Date: October 6, 2025 anytime after 12 Noon
Please Note: Flights MUST be anytime after 12 noon out of Durango CO
Transportation Included: Due to limited parking at a lot of the shooting locations we will travel together in a 15 passenger van during the workshop from the hotel to our shooting locations.

For those who are interested in taking advantage of the airport pick up and NOT renting a car. You can take an Uber to the hotel.
We will also bring you back in the van from Ouray on departure day. Your departure flight should be anytime after 12 noon.
Transportation Included: Airport return plus traveling together in a 15 passenger van during the workshop from the hotel to our shooting locations.
